Project Description
Two major components comprise the Center's work to foster international learning and exchange. Together, these components provide a dual focus on community-centered policy and practice and on data and research driven advocacy.
I. International Initiative for Children, Youth and Families
The International Initiative for Children, Youth, and Families is an international network of policymakers, managers, practitioners, and researchers involved in promoting effective policies and services for children, youth, and families. The goal of the Initiative is to help nations develop strong communities to support families. The Initiative does this by promoting learning through seminars, publications, peer matches, and other forms of international exchange.
The work of the Initiative is guided by principles for effective family-centered practice, and by principles for community-based work.
The current focus of the Center's the International Initiative work is on (1) learning exchanges among policymakers, (2) an international work group on resident engagement and mobilization strategies, and (3) emerging work on immigrant and refugee affairs.
II. Annie E. Casey Foundation's International Learning Agenda
The Center also provides support for the Casey Foundation's work to promote international exchanges. Currently, supports are offered in three areas, including: (1) data-based advocacy, (2) international residencies, and (3) scans of international policy research institutes.
