Aligning Resources and Results

As the president releases his FY14 budget, a new CSSP brief highlights how policymakers and communities can work together to maximize resources to improve outcomes for children and families. The brief highlights examples from the White House’s Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative.

This brief, "Community Roles in Maximizing Eligibility and Enrollment in California," is the fourth in a series exploring health reform implementation opportunities for place-based initiatives and how reform can further place-based work.

BNCP Neighborhoods Selected

The Department of Justice has announced the eight Building Neighborhood Capacity Program (BNCP) neighborhoods. CSSP is the training and technical assistance provider for this place-based initiative designed to help persistently distressed communities build the infrastructure needed to ignite positive change.

Utah Judge Joins Board

CSSP has announced the Honorable William A. Thorne, Jr. will join its Board of Directors. Thorne is currently a judge on the State of Utah Court of Appeals. He is widely regarded as a leading expert on policies and programs to support children, particularly Native American children and their families.

Expanding the Evidence Universe

CSSP is proud to release Expanding the Evidence Universe: Doing Better by Knowing More, a paper written for discussion at the Harold Richman Public Policy Symposium, the first in a series of forums honoring the memory of Harold Richman, co-founder of the center. The paper provides recommendations related to expanding the knowledge base necessary to improve outcomes for children, families and communities.

RFP Now Available

CSSP, with funding from the Annie E. Casey Foundation, is seeking proposals from public state and local child welfare agencies and tribes committed to improving outcomes for pregnant and parenting youth in the foster care system.

CSSP Awarded Federal Grant

The U.S. Dept. of Justice and partner agencies named CSSP the Building Neighborhood Capacity Program Training and Technical Assistance Coordinator. The organization will help to-be-selected neighborhoods in generating the capacity to undertake development of comprehensive neighborhood revitalization plans.
