A network of more than 20 technical assistance providers will support implementation of the Strengthening Families Approach in the pilot states. The network includes staff members who represent
- the exemplary programs whose work was studied in phase one of this project
- national organizations who work on issues related to the funding, infrastructure, or new and innovative practice in early childhood or child abuse and neglect prevention
- the Center for the Study of Social Policy
Each member of the network has extensive experience in the practices involved in Strengthening Families and has received specific training in integrating the Strengthening Families approach into programming and practice. In addition, the network includes members who have experience in developing key aspects of practice found in all of the exemplary programs:
- Including men
- Family support strategies
- Mental health consultation
- Working with child welfare agencies
- Strengthening and supporting staff relationships
- Promoting children's healthy social and emotional development
- Supporting families with children with special needs
- Financing for early childhood and child abuse and neglect prevention services
- Licensing and credentialing of early care and education programs
- Legislation and policymaking
